VERAMlight is a Visual Ergonomics Risk Assessment Method that can help to improve the visual working environment and create a better, sustainable, healthier, and more productive working life.

Who are we?

The founders behind VERAMlight consist of the researchers that developed the method as a research project. VERAMlight is a method to be used when assessing the visual environment, such as lighting, daylight, work posture, work task etc. It is a tool that can be used when discussing visual problems at a workplace with the management or an employee, and to give recommendations on how to improve the situation.

 

Founders

Hillevi Hemphälä

Hillevi is an optometrist and a lighting designer, with a PhD in the field of Visual Ergonomics. She is an assistant professor at Lund University and is one of the leading researchers in the field of Visual Ergonomics and Light & Health.

Camilla Zetterberg

Camilla Zetterberg is a physiotherapist with a PhD in Medical Science within Visual Ergonomics. She is an associate professor at the University of Gävle in Work Environment and Health. Her research is focused on Visual Ergonomics and Flexible work forms.

Per Nylén

Per Nylén, PhD, has participated in many research studies about lighting and visual ergonomics and has written a widely used book on the subject. He has worked at the Swedish OSHA for 35 years and also gives lectures in these subjects at many higher education institutions like the Karolinska Institute and the Royal Institute of Technology.

This 20-hour course is for professionals who want to deepen their expertise in visual ergonomics and use a proven, research-based method to conduct accurate and reliable risk assessments. You’ll gain access to the VERAMlight Method, developed by top researchers in Sweden, and learn to use this method to evaluate visual environments effectively. You will also receive a light meter and a VERAMlight app to help you conduct assessments with precision. 

This course opens in the fall of 2025.
